It’s all about new original songs, folks. We’ve been writing like mad: crackling instrumentals, timely meditations on our changing society, and historically nuanced ditties. Come give a listen!!
Our scheduled February 12 appearance on Atlanta’s very own WRFG, Radio Free Georgia, was rudely interrupted by a whole bunch of weather. And just when Porch Bottom Boys on the radio would’ve warmed the cockles of Georgia’s frozen little heart. But fear not, friends – we’ll be back. Stay tuned for a new date.
Did you catch Todd and Denis perform New Year’s Day at Big Tex as the Rhubarbarians, Atlanta’s absolute most bestest fingerstyle-blues trio with the incomparable Alex Commins? Denis made his professional debut on the electrified fiddleand the joint was hop, hop, hoppin’. I know it’s an overused word, folks, but it was AWESOME.
And if you missed that, surely you caught Denis playing electric fretless bass (think Jaco Pastorius meets the adult voices from Peanuts) with The Todd Prusin Experience at the Star Bar in LIttle Five Points January 30. Was it noisy? And smoky? Oh my yes. But both rock and roll are stern mistresses, and must be served.
Plus, Denis wrote a book. It’s not about bluegrass, but why not check it out?
