Folks, Stone Mountain has had a pretty sleepy history – you know how it is for a granitic upwelling. Frantic liquidity followed by intense crystallization followed by, oh, boy, TEDIOUS years of sitting around. The best you can do is smirk at lesser strata as they get all eroded. And yes, there’s the recent flurry of activity around carvings and geographically incongruous snow-making and vaguely offensive casting in TV’s “30 Rock” – but really, Stone Mountain has been just waiting patiently for its breakout moment, and HERE IT IS!
